Goats Links

His Inspiration Farms is proud to be raising the following breeds. We'll be adding pictures and information on our individual goats in the near future. Come back soon to see them!

Alpines - These are a medium-large size dairy breed known for good milk production and super temperaments. They come in many colors and color patterns. Zachary is our alpine enthusiast and he will be adding 2 Stump Hollow kids to his small herd this year. We expect his Alpines to be very competitive next year.
LaManchas - LaManchas are what we call our "earless wonders". They are clownish and a bit mischievous, but always entertaining. A good milking dairy breed, they come in any color or combination, with either "gopher" or "elf" ears. Some people have trouble getting past the ears, but when you do you'll find they have the most end"ear"ing personalities.

Nubians - These are the Jersey cows of dairy goats- They produce less then some breeds, but are known for their high butterfat yield. They are also well known for those long, adorable ears! Nubians can be a bit stubborn, and a little aloof, but they have a strong following.

Recorded Grades - These are crossbreds or an animal who has an unregistered parent. These often excellent milkers possessing hybrid vigor.

Nigerian Dwarf - The Nigerian Dwarf is a small (dwarf) dairy breed with an amazing milking ability for their size. They come in every imaginable color and combination and can have dark or blue eyes. Still considered "rare", they are being bred in most areas now and are quite prolific- often having triplets, quads, or even quints. They are year-round breeders (most dairy goats are seasonal breeders). We have breeding stock from top lines and expect to be very competitive in the show ring.

Minis - This year we add to our breeding program the Min LaMancha (often call Mini Mancha) and the Mini Nubian. MDGA is the registering body for these wonderful new breeds that combine the smaller size and increased breeding season of the dwarf with the breed attributes of the dairy breed.
